BWO Fishing Report 2-5-2024

 OFFSHORE:
Finally a break in the weather. I had the chance to talk with one of our locals, David Mason (pictured above).  He was able to get off shore and target artificial reefs in the 60-120 ft. range for Triggerfish, Red, Lane and Vermillion Snapper. He said chicken rigs with shrimp or squid are doing the job. Red grouper have also been good on pinfish. Knocker rigs have been good on Gag Grouper and Amber Jacks. Be sure to check the rules and reg's for updates before you go!

INSHORE:
I had a chance to do a little "fun fishing" with one of our local guides on Wednesday, We had a great day catching Redfish on live bait. Sheephead and Black Drum have also been biting. Lots of Whiting being caught on the beaches.

This group was fishing with Capt. Chris Lantz with Gettin' Reel Sportfishing on Saturday.

FRESHWATER:
The bite has been up and down, just like the river.

If your planning a fishing trip, I highly recommend any of our local guides. You won't find a better group of captains for all your inshore or off shore needs. They are excellent at what they do and very knowledgeable about the area as well.

Until Next Week, Tight Lines My Friend.
