Port St. Joe Fishing Report 11-29-2024
Offshore: I talked with one of our locals David Mason he says the trigger fish bite has been good in 50 to 60 feet of water. The grouper bite has been good as well although red and gags are still closed. The Vermillion and Mangrove snapper bite has been good using a double dropper rig with 2/0 Circle hooks tipped with squid or Bonita chunks.
Inshore: Check out the photo of this huge Black Drum from Gettin Reel Sports Fishing. The water temperature has been running in the low 70s just about every inshore species is biting this time of year. The St. Joe Marina sea wall has been good for Redfish, Black Drum and the Trout are moving in along with lots of Mangrove Snapper. If you're fishing the Highland view bridge expect the same results, don't forget Flounder season is still closed.
Freshwater: Crappie are really heating up in Depot Creek as well as other smaller creeks. This cold front should put them back in the brush piles so you're going to have to fish those Crappie minnows close to structure. The catfish are still biting in the river, the outside bends in the deeper holes on cut bait are going to work well.
Closing: Gun season opens this week. I plan on being out there. Don't forget about the BlueWater Outriggers Black Friday Sale. It starts November 29. We have some really great deals. It is definitely worth stopping in. Until next week don't forget those lifejackets and lanyards.
