BWO Fishing Report 2-12-2024

OFFSHORE:
The water temperature offshore has been running in the mid 60's. Dave Mason from Forgotten Coast Fishing had a great day fishing some of the shallower reefs. He caught some Black Sea Bass on a 1/4 oz. Ned rig with pearl Z-Man curly tail. Work it like a slow pitch jig, or cast it with a slow bouncing action along the bottom. Dead Shrimp on a 3/0 hook with some 20 lb. Florocarbon leader was the ticket for mangrove Snapper.

INSHORE:
The water temps in St. Joe Bay have been running in the upper 50's. Several of our Captains including Capt. Pete Barwick of Bounty Bay PSJ Charters, Capt. Chris Lantz of Gettin' Reel Sportfishing and Capt. Jason Williams of Chasin' Dreams Charters, had some very happy customers last week who cleaned up on Blackdrum and Sheephead using live shrimp. Lee Thompson of Shallow Seas Charters also had a good week catching Redfish and Sheephead. David Brown fished just to the west in the Big Bend Region and caught some nice Specs and Redfish using Z-Man pearl curlytails. Don't forget the Western Panhandle Region is closed to Speckled Trout the month of February.

FRESHWATER:
Crappie fishing has been heating up in both Howard Creek and Depot Creek. Minnows and 2" curly tails, pearl and chartreuse have been the colors of choice.

If your planning a fishing trip, I highly recommend any of our local guides. You won't find a better group of captains for all your inshore or off shore needs. They are excellent at what they do and very knowledgeable about the area as well.

Until Next Week, Tight Lines My Friend.
